I am thinkn ing fo buying some esl 57's from e-bay..However, rather
than contact the vendor, I would like to have a ballpark figure of
shipping costs before I go in with an offer.
I have the shipping rates from UPS..all I need to know is how much an
ESL speaker wieghs, and how much a crate would too!

You do NOT ship a speaker like the ESL-57 via UPS! No matter how carefully it's
packed, you're asking for trouble.
You should go with a trucking company that can handle "fragile" items.
Contact QUAD and get their advice on how to properly pack these speakers.
