Searching for ideas for english/language arts for our third grader, curriculum, mainly grammar?

Question: We are in our first year of homeschooling our children. Searching for ideas for english/language arts for our third grader, curriculum, mainly grammar.

Answer: Grammar can be fun, believe it or not. Worksheets that tell your child to circle the noun or make the subject and verb agree are BOOOORING....... Check your child's grammar through fun creative writing. For example when I taught third grade, we read "Charlotte's Web". I had the children write a letter to Fern's father for wanting to shoot Wilbur, just because he was a runt. Shh, don't tell the children, but I was checking to see if they knew the parts of a personal letter. I also put 2 sentences on the board each day. The sentences had my mistakes in them. The children would copy the sentences and take their red crayons and mark my mistakes. 1.) wilbur eight slop 2.)charlotte gots ate legs Do you see my purpose in this exercise? It is a fun way to check their understanding of homphones and correct punt. Now your assignment is to find all my mistakes in this post. Please be kind. On a serious note, all my units are written like this. Let me know if you would like a free online catalog. Hope this helps.
