anyone have any comments, suggestions or advice on how to proceed?

I think that it is a good idea for your daughter to begin learning the
French language. I currently am taking French classes in college. French
is a very beautiful language, and quite easy to learn and understand. In
order to begin, however, one must have a good understanding of the English
language. I recommend that maybe you should purchase some instructional
books and/or tapes for your daughter to begin learning. Once they are
availible, your daughter should also take french courses in school
