Question: I'm not a native speaker of English but is trying hard to grasp this language . Is the internet a best place to learn and pick up this language ? Or do your happen to come across any sites that are of much help to novice English learner ? What are the ways to learn and master this language ? I'm quite confused with all the tenses and the grammatical rule . Just hope that someone could share his leaarning experience with me .

Answer: The best? No, it's not the best place to pick up the language. You may rely upon it to clear up isolated points of grammar or usage now and then, but we don't provide tuition in English. However, I do believe there is a website for English as a Second Language (ESL) that could prove helpful to you. In any case you should not rely on the Internet to be a language teacher.

You just have to read as much as you can. For writing, you can find a penpal to exchange letters with. You can find English speakers to talk to. You can listen to the language at the movies, on TV, on audio cassettes, and on the radio. (If you have a shortwave radio, you can listen to the whole world talk.) Through constant use. If you have nobody to communicate with, talk to yourself while driving; write out sentences in English at random moments; put English names to the common objects you see. You can listen to audio tapes while doing something else -- exercising, for instance.
