Are they the same as "second language acquisition"?

Question: What do these mean? Natural Approach Communicative Method Communicative Approach .... Are they the same as "second language acquisition"?

What is the correct terminology for the formal studying of a foreign language as occurs in "Fundamental Languagename 1" or "Elementary Languagename 101"?

Do most private or independant language teachers teach according to language acquisition? Do most of them utilize anything like a technology-based "audio-lingual" laboratory?

Answer: They are methodologies of teaching a foreign language. Well, not sure what you mean. "Second language acquisition" is a specific term used by Stephen Krashen in his theory of L2 learning. He claims there is a difference between L2 learning and L2 acquisition. I don't buy it, personally. Anyway, Krashen is associated with the Natural Approach. Your use of the terms is a little confusing. But I think the answer to your question is: It depends on which region of the world you want to look at as well as on the particular teacher.
