Question:
I am attempting to learn Visual C++, and have been using the SAMS
books for this task. I was previously adviced to look for other books to do
this task with, but haven't been very sucessful. I try to download all that
I can from the internet, since getting around to locate some of the items I
need is difficult at times.
I am trying to locate a Beginners book on Visual C++, thats why I was using
the SAMS books, but I have noticed that a couple of the progams in this book
do not work. And since I am not completely versed on this language, I can
not figure out what the problem is.
I am using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition, and am running Win 2k.
Answer:
Accelerated C++ by Koenig & Moo has gotten very good reviews. The main
complaint in the ACCU review is that it moves quickly for someone with
no programming experience at all, but if you've used Basic and Fortran
that's probably not an issue.
