Anyone seen PDD-NOS child rediagnosed with language disorder?

Question: Our 4-1/2 year old son was diagnosed with PDD around the age of 2.5yrs. Since then his autistic type traits have almost disappeared except for language problems. My reading in general seemed to indicate he had PDD-NOS although there was never any offical diagnose.

Recently he was looked at/tested by an expert in PDD and other childhood disorders. At the end of the testing we were told most or all of his problem lie in speech with social immaturity due to his lack of speech. And suprisingly that he might not even PDD-NOS at all possibly suffering from a language related disorder although he said that we should stick with NOS for now, and have him reevaluted again in one year.

What language disorders are related to this? I see Semantic Pragmatic Disorder mentioned often I'm sure there are more.

Answer: Receptive and Expressive language disorders.
