I am looking for a good book for a year 10 student that will give
them exercises on grammar usage (eg pick the examples of
alliteration, personification etc).
Answer:
I'm not sure if these are really what you want as they are designed
as English second language texts. At any rate the first is
FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGLISH GRAMMAR, 2nd edition, by Azar and Azar. I'm
not sure if it's available in Australia, but it is quite common in
North America. The other, well, I've very inconveniently forgotten
the name of it. I'll post it when I see it again
