why were these songs left off?

Question: As someone who only has ESL on vinyl...am I to understand that A Passage to Bangkok is not on the original CD? Why did they do that?

I also seem to recall something about the remastered ATWAS having Something For Nothing and listing it as a "bonus track." Was that not included either? My albums have both these songs. Hard to imagine them not being there... Again, why were these songs left off?

Answer: Both ATWAS and ESL are/were double LPs. In order to release them each on a single CD, those songs had to be left off. In the early days of CD pressing, you could only put a certain amout of audio on the disc (69 or 70 minutes, I think?). Nowadays, you can get upwards of 80 min (74 in most cases), so those two songs were put back on the album for the remasters (haven't seen ATWAS RM, so I'm just assuming it's complete).
