How does one go about forming a local group to practice spoken Spanish?\

Question: Has anybody had any experience in forming a local group to study and practice spoken Spanish? In my town there is a Hispanic group, but they do not have any program to help students learn the language; they just want to organize immigrants to get free stuff from the government. I know that there are expatriate groups throughout Latin America that give free English lessons to local students. Does anything like that exist here?

How does one go about forming a local group to practice spoken Spanish? I live in Pensacola, FL. If you live nearby and are interested please contact me. You can write in Spanish or English.

Answer: I'm a Pensacola High School graduate ( '57), FSU grad (German major) and did not learn Spanish until I went to Colombia (lived there 4 years teaching English ) and married a Colombian. Move somewhere where most people speak Spanish and you are forced to use it, with your attempts to learn the language appreciated and encouraged. It could be living in an all Spanish speaking neighborhood in Miami or anywhere, but Pensacola, though a pleasant place to live, is not the best place to learn Spanish.
