Particularly who wrote the first English grammar book?

This is, of course, not a simple question. You could look in the volumes
of the Cambridge History of English, or you could look at a large-scale
history of linguistics (such as the series edited by Giulio Lepschy). R.
H. Robins presumably mentions a few names in his *Short History of
Linguistics*.
The first grammar written in English is Aelfric's, and the way he
explains Latin grammar reveals interesting information about Old
English
