Question:
I'm starting on Sept. 13th, and I'm curious to know how far in
advance the people on this group plan their lessons at the beginning
of the year. There are two areas, I suppose:
a. General Planning -- you'll do this unit, then this, then this, etc.
b. Specific, Daily Planning -- you've got the notes written,
worksheets ready, daily agendas prepared (even though
you may adjust as needed), etc.
Answer:
I already know what I'm doing every day for the four courses I'm
teaching. I have almost all of the notes, worksheets, and assignments
done for my three social studies classes. For my English class, I still
have some reading and grammar worksheets to make up. I've taught these
courses so many times -- about 15 -- that I really know where I'll be on
day 3 of week 13, etc. Also, I teach night school for a public school
and I am going to night classes myself, so the more planned I am now,
the easier my life is going to be later.
I start tomorrow.
