Question:
Is there anybody who can recommend me a good digital English
dictionary for PC which include thesaurus, examples, etc.
The pronunciation of each word is spelled out too. A dictionary
on CD from Collins has all these functions, but the pronunciation
has British accents. I want one with American accents.
Answer:
The only US CD with dictionary, thesaurus and pronunciation is the
American Heritage Talking Dictionary. I never bother with
pronunciation but I assume it talks with a US accent. (The Random
House Unabridged Websters does not have a thesaurus and the Merriam
Webster Collegiate doesn't have pronunciations.)
