Question:
Can anyone share their experience on how to enroll your wife
and kids in english classes as soon as you land?. I have read somewhere about
this kind of help being provided by local schools, universities, etc. I am
particularly concerned about my little kidīs integration to canadian school
(she is 5 yrs old),
Answer:
I am not sure about your wife education in English...but for your
daughter in any public school she will learn English in only a few
months. My children attend an English school in Montreal..where alot
of the students know little or no English or French and within a few
months of starting school all the children are speaking English..
Also you might want to look into a summer day camp program offered my
the local YMCA or local school board. The more your daughter is
around English speaking children the quicker she will learn. Sure
wish I was given the chance to learn a second language while I was
still under the agfe of 7...much easier for the young that at my
present age.
I would like to tell you it is far better for your daughter if you
only address her in English while she is learning the new language.
