where i begin to learn about Teaching English as a Second Language?

Question: Could anyone tell me where i begin to learn about Teaching English as a Second Language? I have no idea what qualifications i need to begin nor where to get them if I ain't got them. I live in Nottingham btw and have an 'A' Level in English language and Literature.

Answer: Well, that question went down like a lead balloon didn't it. Lots of opinionated crap and no real answers as usual. The truth is the in most of Asia you appear to need a BA or preferably an MA plus a TESOL or equivalent certificate. In Taiwan and China (and possibly Korea) the need for English conversational teachers is much more profound, so many schools will accept any bachelors degree plus a TEFL or TESL Certificate, and some will accept you so long as your native language is English and you don't look too ugly. That's the long and short of it. Search on TESOL, TEFL or TESL in any major search engine and you
