Question:
Dave's ESL Cafe a good resource for English teachers has been taken off a
number of servers. When you try to access you get the message "Forbidden" I
know there was talk some time ago by some Korean employers and government
officials of restricting access to sites that contained information critical
of Korea., such as the Grey List - a list of abuses by Korean employers of
foreign English teachers. I hope the current restriction is not a
manifestation of such controls. Does anyone have information about this
matter.
Answer:
I just went to Dave's ESL Cafe and surfed around, seems fine. I tried links to
the greylist but was told by GEOCITIES that they don't have a link to the
greylist. I then went to other ESL pages and tried their links to the greylist
and got the same message. It appears to me that Dave's ESL Cafe is fine but the
greylist is gone.
I'd be curious to see if my old Won-Jang-nim is up there or not. God knows he
should be!
