Question:
I was hoping if anyone can recommend a textbook complete with audiotape
series for learning the Chinese language. I am an ABC, with the ability to
speak Mandarin but no knowledge of how to to read or write characters other
than my own name. Can someone point me to a particular resource in this
regard? Or if not, is their a bookstore in NYC where I can browse a wide
selection of such learning materials?
Answer:
If you already know how to speak, an audiotape is not much help for you to
learn to read and write. There's got to be many Chinese bookstores in NYC
and Flushing. Go do some browsing
