if there are some good CHAT ROOMS to learn and practise English language?

Question: I'm from Argentina and I'm learning English. I'd like to know if there are some good CHAT ROOMS to learn and practise English language. Some advice?

Answer: This may not be a good idea because: 1. However colloquial in style, Chat Rooms are conducted in writing. You cannot hear how English sounds: but you can hear English sounds by listening to BBC World News, going to American movies etc. 2. Most Chat Rooms have no particular focus, i.e. have nothing to do with your personal interests (which might be collecting stamps or Bronze Age art or Moroccan cinema.)

If I wanted to learn Swedish, being interested in fishing and music, I should look for Swedish language websites for fishing and music, because I could (partly) understand what is written and perhaps take part in discussion -- and expect egregious mistakes to be corrected.
