Question:
British English and American English is a bit different
then how about canadian English and American English?
both are entirely same?
Answer:
First of all, there are quite some differences between the British
English and the American English in grammars, vocabularies and
especially the accents. You can search the Internet for details.
Having lived in Toronto for long, I can tell you this: Canadian
English (in Toronto area, for example) is quite close to American
English since 80-90% of the TV shows (in English) are from the US.
(For those who are interested, we also have TV shows from the UK as
well...) However, for some words, students and media are encouraged
to use the British spelling instead, which is really not a big deal
anyway. A Korean student told me that this is probably why many
Korean students like to come to Canada to study...
Please keep in mind: what I wrote about the Canadian English can be
quite different in some regions (Quebec, Newfoundland, etc.)
