Question:
am wondering if there are any people familiar with Alpha Omega life
pacs for math (specifically 3rd and 4th grade) and/or Horizons math
(also published by Alpha Omega).
I have been using Horizons for my 8 year old (9 this month/3rd grade)
and we are for a variety of reasons just finishing up the 2nd grade
books. I am considering switching in the Fall to the 4th grade of the
Life Pacs so that her entire curriculum will be 4th grade, rather than
ordering the 3rd grade Horizons.
On the other hand, what are other 4th graders using? What things does
it cover? My daughter has had multiplacation but has not yet started
division, for example.
Answer:
Sharon, the Horizons has just come out with the 4th grade math. I too
used the 2nd grade for my 3rd grader at this level. I had the 3rd grade
books but sold them, but I do like their style! I did copy the
worksheets from the teachers guide before I sold it and we refer to
these time to time to check "grade level" type stuff, but for the most
part all math is done on computer (especially for drilling, much more
fun to play a game than sit and fill out worksheets all day)
